This week, our Year 3 to Year 6 pupils led a truly magical Candlelit Carol Service, filling the church with light, music and the warmth of our school community. From the moment the first candle flickered to life, there was an unmistakable sense of Christmas spirit in the air.

The children sang beautifully, read with confidence and reverence, and carried themselves with a maturity that made every member of staff feel incredibly proud. Parents and relatives were visibly moved — many admitting afterwards that the performances brought tears to their eyes because of how touching and heartfelt the service was.

What made the afternoon so special was the way it brought our whole school family together. Children, staff and families stood side by side, sharing in the joy, reflection and hope that this season brings. It was a reminder of how blessed we are to belong to such a supportive and faith-filled community.

As a Catholic school, the service also centred us again on the true meaning of Christmas — the message of love, peace and generosity that lies at the heart of the Nativity. Amid the busyness of the season, the children helped us pause, reflect and remember why this celebration is so important.

We are so proud of every pupil who took part. Their voices, their reverence and their joy made this year’s Candlelit Carol Service one we will cherish for a long time.
