School Meals

Menu and catering information about our school.

St Mary’s provides a school meal service offering hot, nutritionally balanced meals, freshly prepared and cooked on the school premises.

The meals are produced by BWCET Catering and offer a choice from 3 main courses and 3 desserts per day. Each meal is developed to ensure the right amount of protein, carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables is available while avoiding confectionery and artificially-sweetened drinks, with limits on the fat, salt and sugar content in each meal. If your child has a special dietary requirement (supported by a Medical Practitioner) then this can still be provided for.

Guidelines for parents:

  • At the start of each school year, please contact the school office to let us know whether your child will be having a school meal or will be bringing a packed lunch.
  • If you would like to make changes from a packed lunch to a school meal (or vice versa) we request that you give us 2 weeks advance notice to allow kitchen staff to amend the food order.
  • Each school meal costs £2.85 and payments must be made via your Arbor account. PLEASE NOTE: all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will continue to receive universal free school meals (this is a government initiative and could be withdrawn at any time).
  • The current menu for the Autumn and Spring Terms 2024/5 can be viewed below. The menu comprises of a 3 weekly cycle with dates as follows: Week 1 begins on 09/09/24; Week 2 on 16/09/24; and Week 3 on 23/09/24 etc.
  • The menu for Spring and Summer Terms 2025 will commence on Monday 3rd March 2025. Dates for each week are included at the bottom of each menu.
  • Packed lunches should only include healthy items and should not include confectionery, fizzy drinks or glass bottles.
