Breakfast & After School Clubs

Wrap-around care and after school club information about our school.

We’re excited to announce that AE Sports Coaching will be providing wraparound care at St Mary’s starting this September 2025!

Who Are AE Sports Coaching?

AE Sports Coaching has been delivering high-quality PE lessons, after-school clubs and holiday camps across County Durham, Sunderland and Consett for the past six years. Many of you may already know of their work with the children and staff at St Mary’s, or from their popular holiday camps.

In addition to their sports programmes, they’ve been successfully running breakfast and after-school wraparound care for the last three years. They understand how vital this service is for families, and are committed to making it a safe, fun and supportive environment for your children.

All AE coaches are:

  • Enhanced DBS checked
  • Emergency Paediatric First Aid trained
  • Safeguarding trained
  • Trained by the school in managing behaviour in line with their behaviour policy
  • Food hygiene and allergy trained

Breakfast Club Details

  • Time: 7:45am – 8:45am
  • Pricing: £4.50
  • Mr Kent, lead coach, will be managing and supervising breakfast club.
  • Mrs O’Brien, Mrs Maxwell and Mrs Lishman will continue to be part of the team.
  • The current offer of cereal, yoghurt, toast and pancakes will continue.

Booking Information for Breakfast Club

  • Places MUST BE BOOKED VIA ARBOR as normal.
  • You can book individual days or the full half term in advance. Places will not be limited to a certain number as we will strive to provide the staff to meet the demand. Payment is required at the time of booking.
  • School staff are currently setting up the ability to accept childcare vouchers for breakfast club

After-School Care Details

  • Time: 3:30pm – 5:30pm
  • Options & Pricing:
    • 3:30pm – 4:30pm: £4.50
    • 3:30pm – 5:30pm: £6.50
    • Sadly, there was not enough demand for us to viably run the club until 6pm
      If you wish for your child to attend the full session until 5:30pm, you do not need to book onto the 3:30pm-4:30pm session.
  • Children will enjoy a light snack during the 3:30pm–4:30pm session. Please provide allergy information when booking.
  • Late Pick-Up Fee: £10.00 per child after 5:30pm

Booking Information for After School Club

  • Bookings are now open for the November-December half term for after-school club – places MUST BE booked DIRECTLY WITH AE SPORTS COACHING by clicking this link Holiday Camps | AESportsCoaching | Powered by ClassForKids
  • You can book individual days as late as the evening before or for the full half term in advance if you would prefer- places will not be limited as we will strive to provide enough staff to meet the demand. 
  • Payment is required at the time of booking.
  • AE Sports Coaching are currently setting up the ability to accept childcare vouchers for after-school club and will share more details soon.

What to Expect

Drop off and collection will be via the main school entrance.

There will be a range of engaging activities on offer, including:

  • Multi-sports
  • Arts & crafts
  • Fun games
  • Child-led sports and activities based on their interests

AE Sports Coaching are really looking forward to supporting families at St Mary’s and providing a safe, active, and enjoyable space for your children.
