Year 6 Glide Into a Fantastic Day at the Centre for Life! ❄️⛸️

A post in our latest news section.

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a brilliant day out at the Centre for Life this week—complete with science, smiles, and a whole lot of slipping and sliding!

After exploring the hands‑on exhibits and diving into the world of STEM, the children laced up their skates and took to the ice rink. For some, it was their very first time skating; for others, it was a chance to show off their moves! Whether they were gliding gracefully, cautiously shuffling along the sides, or laughing their way through a wobble or two, every child gave it their all.

There were triumphant moments of balance, friendly races, and even a few “spectacular” tumbles—always followed by giggles and encouragement from friends. The rink was full of teamwork, resilience, and pure joy.

By the end of the session, Year 6 left the ice with rosy cheeks, tired legs, and stories they couldn’t wait to share. A huge well done to all the children for their enthusiasm and fantastic behaviour throughout the day.

A memorable trip from start to finish—well done, Year 6! ❄️✨
