Year 1 to 6 Parent Consultation Meetings & Year Reception Open Classroom

We would like to thank all families for the positive and encouraging feedback following the Autumn Term open classrooms for Years 1 to 6. It was wonderful to see so many parents — and even grandparents — looking through books with their children and celebrating the learning that has taken place so far. We truly value these opportunities for children to share their achievements with you.
We also received very helpful feedback from our Reception parents, many of whom appreciated the more formal 1:1 meetings held in the Autumn Term. With their children being so young — and many families being new to the school — parents told us they valued that early opportunity to speak directly with staff. They have shared that they are now looking forward to enjoying an open classroom event this term, with the chance to celebrate their children’s learning together.
As we move into the Spring Term, we continue to build on this strong partnership with a more formal approach for parents in Years 1 to 6. These meetings allow teachers to provide clear, individual feedback on your child’s progress and how they are keeping up with the curriculum for their year group.
Our 1:1 parent consultations offer a 10‑minute, focused opportunity to discuss your child’s learning and the next steps in their progress.
We completely understand that arranging childcare can be difficult, and some families may wish to bring their child with them. Please just be aware that these meetings include a clear and honest conversation about whether your child is, or is not, keeping up with the curriculum for their age. We want to ensure you have this information in advance so you can make the choice that feels right for you about whether or not your child attends the meeting with you. It is entirely a parental decision, and we will fully respect whichever option you choose.
Appointments can be booked via Arbor. The booking system will go live on Monday 26th January 2026 at 4.30pm. If you experience any difficulties navigating the system, please contact the school office — our staff will be happy to guide you through the process.
Please do not worry if you are unable to attend on these dates due to work or other commitments. Simply contact your child’s class teacher to arrange an alternative appointment after the half‑term break.
Parents of children in Reception will receive a separate invitation to a dedicated Reception Open Classroom Evening. We warmly encourage you to bring your child with you so they can show you their learning environment, share their books and talk proudly about the work they have been doing. Reception staff will also be available should you wish to ask any general questions.
