Headteacher’s Welcome

A welcome message from our headteacher.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St Mary’s Catholic Primary School website, designed to provide you with a range of essential information and a glimpse of what life is like at our wonderful school.

The children at St Mary’s are at the heart of everything that we do. The whole staff team are fully committed to ensuring that each child feels loved, safe, happy, secure and ready to learn. We are committed to providing them with both high academic expectation and achievement along with social, moral, spiritual and cultural development. Children at St Mary’s are here to become excellent learners and to grow into excellent individuals. We believe they deserve our unreserved effort to unlock their true unique qualities, so they feel empowered and fully prepared to succeed in the next stage of their education and beyond.

As a Catholic school our fundamental mission is to promote the Gospel values and virtues within a school community where every person is respected as an individual, made in the image of Christ. We encourage children at St Mary’s to live out the Gospel values and this can be seen every day in their work and play; they show respect and care for each other through their words and actions.

We pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with all members of our school community and we believe that pupils achieve their very best when school and home work together in partnership.

Whilst I hope that the information on our website answers many of your questions, if you would like to know more, or you are interested in your child attending our school, please do not hesitate to get in touch to ask a question or to arrange a visit. You will be warmly welcomed.

Thank you for visiting.
