🌟 Parent/Carer Workshops – You’re Invited! 🌟

Following the success of our parent/carer workshop last term, we are delighted to invite all parents and carers to our upcoming Parent/Carer Workshops, led by the SEND & Inclusion Team at Durham County Council.
These sessions are designed to support families by offering practical guidance on common challenges children experience, helpful strategies to use at home, opportunities to ask questions and speak one-to-one about any concerns.


📅 Durham Needs Led Pathway Workshop

Date: Wednesday 23rd September 2026
Time: 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Led by Nicola Owers Specialist SEND and Inclusion Advisory Teacher Emotional Wellbeing and Effective Learning Team
School Hall – Parent/Carers please enter via main reception

Focus:
The session will focus on the graduated approach if parents/carers are thinking about potentially referring for a neurodevelopmental assessment (Autism/ADHD). This will also include how the planning tool can be used to identify and support needs (whether neuro-related or not).


📅 Demand Avoidance Workshop

Date: Tuesday 3rd November 2026
Time: 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Led by Louise Vardy Specialist SEND and Inclusion Advisory Teacher Emotional Wellbeing and Effective Learning Team
School Hall – Parent/Carers please enter via main reception

Focus:
The session will explore demand avoidance, understand why it occurs, and learn practical strategies to support children at home and school including advice on reducing anxiety and encouraging engagement.


There is no need to pre‑book â€” these workshops are open to everyone in our school community.
